Valentine’s Day imagery takes our minds to the patients of our Kids Heart Program. In 2021, 37 children and young adults received cardiac surgery through our program. Here are just two stories that will warm your heart today. We share them with immense gratitude for all of our donors, staff, and medical partners who together make these surgeries possible.

For the first time this week, a small team of biomedical engineers will visit our partners in Cochabamba and provide a wealth of knowledge, specialized tools, and replacement parts for some of our most critical equipment.

Our Neurosurgery Mission Team has just landed in Santa Cruz where summertime temps are in the mid 90s. This week, veteran missioners and their Bolivian colleagues will offer training to a cohort of neurosurgeons and residents from across the South American continent. We are one in our mission to provide high quality neurosurgical care to those who greatly need it.

In the clinic at Punata, adult cardiologist, Dr. Mark Ottolin, and pediatrician, Dr. Monica Joseph, worked together to assess a young boy with a congenital heart defect. 

Today marks the start of back-to-back mission trips for Solidarity Bridge. Our multi-specialty mission team has just arrived in Punata, Bolivia, and next week, a general surgery mission team will be working in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
