Solidarity and Global Mission

World Mission Sunday is celebrated throughout the Catholic Church each October, in response to the Gospel invitation to solidarity with all the world’s peoples. In 2019, Pope Francis has called for October to be an Extraordinary Mission Month, saying “Mission is part of our identity as Christians; it makes us responsible for enabling all men and women to realize their vocation…, to recognize their personal dignity and to appreciate the intrinsic worth of every human life.” This is a unique occasion to celebrate global mission.

Cardinal Cupich will recognize and celebrate all those in the Archdiocese of Chicago who support and engage in missionary efforts beyond our national borders at a Global Mission Mass and Celebration on Sunday, October 27 at 5 pm. There will be opportunities to honor and recognize distinguished leaders in global mission and to share photos and stories about the joy of missionary discipleship.  As members of our Solidarity Bridge community you are encouraged to attend! More information here.
