General Surgeon & Nurses Needed for
February 2008 Mission to Cochabamba!

"The poor everywhere in the world are Christ who suffers.
In them the Son of God lives and dies. Through them,
God shows his face." - Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Missioner and donor, Isaac Goff, plays with Fabricio, the child whose life
he saved through a generous donation for his open heart surgery.

At Solidarity Bridge our calling is to serve the poor by providing critical medical care, Fair Trade cooperative support, and educational collaboration to the poverty stricken Bolivian people. We serve the poor of Bolivia equally regardless ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, sex or age. Though other missions serve the poor, the people of Bolivia and our missioners have often told us our program is the most organized, effective, and spiritually focused they have experienced.

Our Vision

The love of Christ impels the Church, through the lay faithful, to serve those in need through Christ’s healing and empowering ministry.

Those who participate go to experience Christ and share in His mission, in and through bonds of solidarity with their Latin American counterparts through service to the poor.

Through us, a channel is created, with ecumenical and interfaith sensibility, that provides an opportunity for sharing expertise and resources that benefit the poor.

Since 1999 …

200 missioners have participated, many numerous times, and each has been profoundly touched by the experience. They have donated their time, expertise, and resources to help the Bolivian people equaling over $2 million in in-kind service.

Through our Medical Mission, we have cared for over 10,000 patients, made possible nearly 1,400 surgeries, provided nearly
$5.5 million worth of medical supplies, medicines and equipment to serve the poor of Bolivia.

Through our Enterprise Mission and Solidarity Clothing, we are linking indigenous sewing cooperatives with U.S. organizations and schools establishing a Fair Trade market for clothing produced by Bolivian workers. Our
efforts have brought in over $225,000 of income for struggling Bolivian artisans.

Through our Education Mission we provide training and resources for Bolivian medical personnel and educators serving the poor. We’ve also developed a strong relationship with the deaf education community in Cochabamba and have been a tremendous resource for them.

How many persons and institutions have we touched with the witness of our care and spirit? Here in this country it includes parishes, corporations and thousands of individuals who
have participated in our mission in many ways. In Bolivia, it includes both our counterparts - doctors, nurses, administrators, church leaders, educators - and thousands of ordinary people of the poorest country in South America.
